Excellent POS

We have been using ShopKeep for many years and have been very happy, they continue to improve and upgrade.

Excellent Service

New Business Owners! ShopKeep is easy to use, efficient and will save you a lot of problems in accounting, inventory and employee management in the long run. I wish I had found them sooner, I would have saved myself of great deal of issues an money in the long run. Shopkeep is affordable and efficient, using the latest technologies, it makes keeping track of every element of your store so simple. Thanks for all the support shopkeep!

some major oversights

I like this app for it's easy to navigate "back-office", inventory input, employee hours, and features like an iphone dashboard to monitor sales remotely; however, there are some major oversights which make this app unusable for any serious business.

1. There is no split-payment option for cash/credit payments - I'm told this will be added, but it doesn't even matter because...
2. There is no option to track payment types unless you use one of ShopKeep's payment processing partners. A simple button function to categorize the payment would be nice (ie. Debit, Credit, Account). Instead you are forced to use "CASH" or the vague "OTHER" button.
3. There is currently no gift card option for payment
4. There is no way to create a credit on a customer account (this means no returns for store credit).
5. There is no exchange function in the POS, you need to refund the item and then have them pay for the next item
6. There is no gift receipt option
7. Customer sales history does not indicate discounts given or tax, so you can't look up their real transaction without their receipt.
8. There is no option to track employee sales - hope you don't want to give any sales incentive to your staff

These are the issues I face after just 3 weeks of use. Unfortunately I've already spent a lot of hours loading up inventory, paid for my first bill, and trained my staff how to use the app. With all of the extra data entry I now have to do to properly run my business and keep on top of bookkeeping, Shopkeep is certainly not worth the $50/month.
