Avoid car towing and parking tickets during Winnipeg winters by using the plow zone map and ban notifications.

SnowYourZone enables you to quickly and easily:
• Determine plow zone of your current location using GPS.
• Determine plow zone of other locations by scrolling the map or searching for an address.
• See ban status of all plow zones using the map.
• Get notifications for upcoming bans in your selected plow zones.
• Identify streets marked as 'Snow Routes'.

*** 'Background App Refresh' and 'Notifications' must be enabled in Settings -> SnowYourZone in order to receive ban notifications ***

Thanks for This!

Pretty embarrassing for the city that this third party app looks and works 100 times better than their ‘official app’. Why they’re not just paying these guys to do a much better job I’ll never know. But obviously use Snow your zone all winter, and don’t mess around with the city of Winnipeg app.

I checked the city of WINNIPEG app and found this as well but both are not good. This app gave me a shock when I zoom out and at one point it went into loading mode then it didn’t allow me to access my phone at all. At one point it looked that it had taken control of my phone and left me in the dark. That was scary. Being a developer I know it has not been tested well. Definitely need better UX/UI. Need to improve. Thanks!

Developer Response ,

I'm sorry to hear you had this experience with our app. That sounds terrible.

I would love to address this issue if you can please describe it a little more:
- What do you mean by "loading mode" when you zoomed out? Did the "Possible Snow Route" banner show with a loading spinner? Or did the entire screen go black with a loading spinner in the center?
- Are you able to cause the issue to happen again by zooming out? Does it happen every time or randomly?

I ask these questions because from what you've described it sounds likely the issue you experienced was not directly caused by our app but rather was something else that occured while you happened to be using our app. I've encountered this type of thing periodically over the years on various iOS devices where they suddenly go black with a loading spinner, as if rebooting, but then go back to the home screen within a few seconds. I've never associated it with any specific app and always assumed it was just iOS bugs. Like a Springboard crash or something.

Please email me at to discuss this further. I would love to earn a higher rating from you!

Amazing App

This app was amazing and I’m sad to see it go. The alternative suggested is a POS and the city of Winnipeg should seriously reconsider their application.
