It is a very convenient option especially when you are traveling abroad. The service representative has been very helpful with all my questions and requests. Overall, excellent app and service. Highly recommended.

I’m a Canadian travelling around South East Asia (currently in Singapore) and have been happy with Sonetel’s service. I was able to port my Canadian phone number over to Sonetel and can now make and receive calls to my family and friends back in Canada using my local Canadian number. The porting process wasn’t quite as easy or straightforward as I had hoped, but that was primarily down to Rogers (my Canadian phone company) who dropped the ball a few times. Vikas and the other members of Sonetel’s customer service team were great and answered all my questions and queries promptly and patiently assisted me through the porting process. My number is now working great, and it also allows me to receive OTPs (one-time passwords) and confirmation codes for logging into banking and other security-sensitive apps and websites. I’ve paired the Sonetel app with a local SIM card here in Singapore and have had no issues. I’ll be heading to Thailand in a couple of months and will then link the service to my local Thai SIM. For people wanting to travel abroad and keep their local numbers from back home, I would highly recommend it. I did encounter a few little quirks in the app (it was a bit hard to set up voice mail, etc.) but managed to get through and figure it out in the end. Overall, I’m very happy with the Sonetel app. It does everything I need and makes it easy for me to communicate with everyone back home seamlessly.
