Sonnet Shift usage-based insurance puts you in control of your car insurance premium and rewards you for making smart choices behind the wheel. Our free, easy-to use smartphone app monitors your driving for every trip you take and scores it from 0 to a perfect 100. Every three months you could earn savings of up to 35% for driving safely, and you could also get a Mileage Discount of up to 10% just for driving less. But, very risky drivers could pay up to 30% more. It’s simple: safe driving helps you save money.

What you’ll find in the app

Dashboard – Keep tabs on your current Driving Score and see whether you’re projected to get a discount or surcharge at your next three-month score review. Plus, view how much you’ve driven so far and see if you’re on track for a Mileage Discount at renewal.

Trips & Trip Scores – After every trip, check the app to confirm you were driving and review how well you scored. Challenge yourself with personalized tips on how to improve.

Details – Policyholders can view the other drivers’ projected score results and Mileage Discount, as well as the projected premium for each vehicle.

Policy & Claims – Policyholders have on-the-go access to policy details and coverage information. And, you can file claims online quickly and easily with the information you need in the palm of your hand.

Digital pink slips (eSlips) – Easily opt-in, download, and add an eSlip right to your phone’s digital wallet to use as proof if insurance.

Your information – Keeping your info safe is important to us. It’s our priority to ensure it’s always kept confidential and secure, and we have strict safeguards in place to protect it. Plus, we’ll always ask for your consent before we collect, use, or disclose your personal information.

Required permissions – You’ll need to “Always Allow” access to Motion and Fitness as well as Location Services with Precise Location enabled on your phone so the Sonnet Insurance app can track your trips. You’ll have to leave these permissions on when using Sonnet Shift.

Battery impact – While a trip is in progress, the Sonnet Insurance app will use about as much battery power as other navigational apps. When you’re not in motion or taking a trip, the app’s battery usage is negligible.

So sonnet is great for high risk insurance holders hence why the 5 stars. but the problem i have with sonnet and i dont know if its the same with other people. But ive paid my insurance twice within 2 weeks since changing my payment method to bank withdrawl. Im hoping to get this sorted out and maybe get some money back

False advertising

It is impossible to get the advertised 35% off, the developers themselves said my driving is perfect and the best score I could get was 23% off, driving in an unsafe manner because that is what the app wants from you.

Orange light? Better plow through it. At a stop light and it turns green? Bette accelerate so slowly that you are a literal danger on the road. Hit any sort of bump in the road at any speed? That’ll drop your “smooth driving score” to a 60%

The developer themselves plainly stated that getting a perfect score is Impossible, and when I was at 90% total score I was still only getting 23%.

Meanwhile, if I drive in my Porsche doing well over the speed limit regularly, accelerating like a jerk, my score only drops to 17%. So driving so “safely” that you are making the roads unsafe just to satisfy this app will only save you 5% over driving like a menace.

They are likely making more money by tracking your phone, and also using your telemetry data to deny claims, instead of using this to rate the safety of your driving.

Scam app, scum developer. Looking forward to the automated “good morning” response to this review.

I hope a class action lawsuit is coming their way.
