STEP Bible is a study Bible app designed for everyone.

Dig deep into the Bible, with original Greek and Hebrew meanings just a tap away.

By default, we use the English Standard Version (ESV). The Chinese Union Version (CUV) is also available, with many more languages and translations to come!

Everything is free. No ads or in-app purchases.

Data is sourced from Tyndale House Cambridge, a dynamic academic hub that specialises in the languages, history and culture of the Bible.

Great Start but…

This is the main app I use when reading. Would love the option to highlight and add notes. Love the explanation of various words and their meanings in Greek. Looking forward to more updates!

Simple, Yet Effective

I downloaded this app today and have to say that I like it. It is nice, simple and easy to use. The ESV translation is a good choice. Having cross-references and the Greek words/meanings are nice. Please don’t over-complicate this app by adding a ton of “features” to it. It’s good the way it is.

High hopes

I’m a seminary student taking first-year Greek. I have used STEP Bible web version for a semester. I just found the app and took it for a spin on my iPhone 6.

What the app does, it does really well. Unfortunately, it does very little. There are currently only two translations (ESV and Chinese Union (Simplified)). You can click on English or Chinese words in scripture and pop up the dictionary entry with its original language word. That’s about it.

I’m guessing the app is in its infancy and look forward to more features being added so as to become a full fledged alternative to the web version. Especially having interlinears or column views on iPad.
