TeraCopy is a utility designed to copy files faster and more reliably, providing the user with many features.
Be in control
In case of a copy error, TeraCopy will try to recover. If unable to recover in the worst case scenario it will simply skip the problematic file, not terminating the entire transfer.
Unnecessary files can be skipped to reduce the transfer time. During the process, TeraCopy shows detected errors and allows you to fix the problem by recopying only the problematic files at any time, even after a reboot.
File verification
TeraCopy can verify copied files to ensure that they are identical to the original. This is done by comparing the hashes of source and target files.
Import media files
Copy photos and videos from removable storage into folders by date taken. Type of files, source and destination folders can be customized for all or selected devices only.
Export reports
Save file lists with all related information as MD5, HTML, or CSV files.

Stability issues and incorrect copy behaviour
So mirroring others: the app does not seem stable. It frequently hangs during large copies. It does get there eventually and completed a 4 TB copy and verify. I had to use an SQLite browser to check its status though as the front end choked on my 480000 file copy... As for incorrect copy behaviour, I don't trust this program in copying macOS applications. It would not copy file aliases which are critical in most applications to point it to the most current version of helper files within the app bundle. It errored out on the alias saying that it was a directory. It also does not copy directories - it recreates the folder structure on the destination drive. This might be fine for some applications, but wiping folder metadata (particularly creation and modified date) during a copy is incorrect behaviour. This leaves all folders with the creation time of the time it was copied.
love the program, but needs updating
We have used the Pro version of this software for a while and love it. Works very well to copy and verify with our perferred MD5 checksum.
However, it does crash a lot. Would rate if 5 stars once it is more stable. Sure hope it continues to be developed.
This would be worth 5 stars if it didn't crash as often...
I love the concept of this tool! I would be even willing to pay for it, if it didn't crash on an hourly basis. I'm trying to use it to migrate my files from one USB drive to another and it keeps crashing. I'm lucky to be able to move 100GB in between crashes.
