That’s a really good game
Had this game way back on the iPhone 4, it was a fun little time waster with great controls and cool design. Just decided to get it again for the iPhone 8
Great game
Worth far more than what it costs. This is a must-have game for any iOS user.
Its charm steadily piles up on you
My first few times playing the game, I was unimpressed. Run left. Run right. Avoid objects falling from the sky. What's all the hype about? But there was something fun about it, and the more I played it, the more its attention to detail impressed me.
After a few objects fall from the sky, you can't help but think that sooner or later a piano has to fall on you. And oh how it does! The piano gets its own sound effect. A satisfying clang that sounds a heck of a lot like dropping a piano.
The iconic artwork is terrific. It would be easy to dismiss the drawing style as retro, pixellated, or primitive. Instead, it's amazing how few pixels are required to represent each object. At one point, dogs playing poker, falls out of the sky. Little more than a frame and a few blobs of colour, it is nonetheless unmistakably recognizable.
The objects get doled out a few at a time, so you can play many times and still see new objects appear. At some point during play, I was sucked in by the totteriness of the enormous garbage pile I was dancing upon, and thought about the sheer number of objects there are in the world.
I never did really get into the Story mode, but the Endless Nightfall keeps calling me back to see if I can get a little higher. A very addictive game with lots of charm.
