Description

The Transcendental Meditation app is a support tool for verified TM meditators and their teachers.

FEATURES INCLUDE:
– A custom timer to support regular practice
– A meditation log to keep you motivated
– Videos and articles to enrich your understanding
– An event calendar with a global TM events listing

In addition to TM course support, the app offers an official TM timer to help you stay regular with your meditation. Enable chimes, vibration, dark mode and reminders to assist with your meditation. If you need help with your TM practice, choose from a series of FAQ, which are short videos that answer common questions from meditators. You can also send your meditations to Apple Health.

You’ll also find a meditation log to keep track of your meditation sessions. Check your regularity at a glance, and view the number of hours you have meditated and total meditation sessions per month.

In the app’s Library, explore a range of content and tutorials from Dr. Tony Nader, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, scientific experts, famous meditators, community leaders, and more. They share the impact TM has had on their lives, the next steps you can take in your TM journey, and some of the research that has been done into the effects of TM.

Track your progress through videos and articles, including the TM course review, which will remind you of the key concepts from when you learned TM.

You can also use the TM app to connect with others in the international community of meditators via the Events section of the app. View and join upcoming group meditations and other TM events taking place online.

If you haven’t learned TM yet, visit TM.org to find a certified TM teacher.

What’s New

Version 1.18.5

In this update, we have made a few visual adjustments to the Timer. Minutes remaining, segment titles (e.g. “TM” or “Come out slowly”) and controls (“Pause” and “Play”) are now bigger and therefore easier to read or touch, respectively. We have also adjusted the color palette for the light theme to provide more contrast between the timer segments. Of course, there's still the popular “timer dark mode” for you to try if you haven't yet (Transcend > Settings > Screen options > Dark mode).

Besides that, we're also releasing some under-the-hood performance improvements. Reliability and stability of the app will be our main focus for the upcoming months.

If you have a moment to spare, please leave us a rating or review—it would mean a lot to us.

New number of people meditating on timer screen is intrusive

This used to be my favourite TM timer. The sound at the end is a gentle re-entry. But the new feature of showing the number of people meditating on the timer screen is terrible. Sitting down to meditate is a quiet, introspective act, and then as soon as I open the app for the timer, there’s this forced element of information from the outside, creating comparison and competition rather than the sense of community that may have been intended. The app needs an option to turn the counter off, not just stop it with airplane mode (which just stops it from changing as people start and stop meditating; the status number remains on the screen, unwelcome). I will have to stop using this app because of this intrusive element on the timer screen because it does the opposite of creating the conditions that work well for me for meditating. I’ll check back and hope for an update that removes this counter or at least gives an option for making it go away.

Hi, thank you for your feedback, we really appreciate it. We understand that showing the number of other people meditating is not for everyone. Luckily, it's easy to hide this feature. From the Transcend screen, tap: Settings > Other settings > then toggle off "Number of meditators". We hope you'll continue to enjoy using the TM app. ~Thomas
