TXTcrypt is a general purpose text encryption application for sms/email/notes etc. focused on ease of use and interoperability between mobile and desktop versions.

You can use it for text in any application , including text from the TXTcrypt desktop application.

Say you want to send a sms that only someone knowing a password for it can understand , or just need to encrypt a conversation to hide it for prying eyes , now there is a easy way for that on a iphone.

With TXTcrypt just enter your message and a password for it , now the encrypted message can only be decoded with that password , just tell it to someone , and send them message encrypted with it , they can use TXTcrypt to decode it.

TXTcrypt works with any character set being unicode compliant , the encryption used is as strong as encryption export regulations allow , not military grade but namely RC4 with keys as big as 64bit depending on the length of your password as such providing a decent amount of security.

Works Well!

Simply, small, fast. It encrypts and decrypts messages across all platforms iPhone/iPad. Mac too if you get the Mac version.

Was great - Now made worse with ADS

Now it has an ad at the bottom. That's new. I'd rather pay for the apps then deal with these ads.

Very usefull encryption application

If you are like me, you might like to take notes, lot of notes, and put everything inside of your Iphone/Ipod Touch. This could be done inside of the Notes application of the Iphone/Ipod Touch, or something more sophisticated like a personnal wiki such as the Trunk Note application (which I use). But some notes need an extra protection, for instance I store all the password from all the web site I visit inside of my note taking application, but I want to make sure to have those information encrypted and protected...

So that's why I use TXTcrypt to encrypt personnal/important information. What it does is simply to take a text content and encrypt it using a password that you provide in a way to generate another text content that could be put (paste) into any note taking application. When you need to read the information back, simply copy and paste the information back to Txtcrypt and decrypt it using the same password you have used when encrypting it.

Simple but powerful. I try to encrypt all my information using a single password and that's the only one I need to remember.

This little application is also available on PC/MAC so I frequently encrypt/decrypt the information from my computer when necessary.
