Typeface 3 4+

Exactly what I was looking for, for so long !!

I just installed Typeface, had a quick look around to familiarize myself with it and I just love it ! I didn’t have to pay for things I don’t need with a bigger app. It’s just perfect for me!

Very simple et intuitive to use and when I didn’t guess myself how to do something (like Comparing Fonts) I went to HELP / ONLINE HELP to access the FAQ on the website where it’s explained!
I love the flexibility to show the fonts, as small or big as we want, List or Grid View, Installed/System Fonts, «Not installed» fonts in another folder. And it really supports and show all my fonts that are in many formats like *.ttf, *.otf, *.dfont, *.ttc.

The Quick collection is great to make a first choice and all the way to the final choice.
We can choose to show all the variations or «Collapse families» to see more clearly, but still have easy access to show them individually when we need.
I also find very practical the «presets» already in place to choose to show only the UPPERCASE, lowercase, accented, numbers, punctuations and the «Pangrams» (the little funny sentence) in our language to have an idea of the look in real words.

And the Activation/Deactivation of the fonts right in the app without copying the font files in the «Fonts» folder in the «Library» is great when we have so much fonts (2 thousands and more!) we can’t install and activate them all in the «Mac Font Book» because it would be too heavy for the system.
Also the Search (by font name or partial name) and filters are great to narrow the search!

I feel my work will get much easier - and FUN - next time I have to choose a font for a new project!! Great little App, that is light and fast too! Thanks Floor Steeg!! Keep up the good work!

Really Nice Typeface Viewer and Manager

This is a great little app for designers and anyone who needs to pick out typefaces for website or print projects. I really like that it allows you to view font specimens from a folder of fonts that don’t have to be activated. I also like that you can view the fonts with any sample text you want. It has very basic font management capabilites: it allows you to activate a font right from the app, no need to copy the font files over to your system font folder. The print function is a great way to present clients with a selection of font choices to choose from.

The app would be better if it had more keyboard shortcuts for things like scrolling through the font list, pressing Enter to view the full character set, and then pressing the left arrow key to return to the Overview screen, for example. You can only use the mouse to select a font to see the character set and return to the Overview.

Collections would also be better if you could easily choose a collection to add a font to. Currently you can select a single collection from the font menu, and then all fonts you drag to the top go into that one collection. It would be nice if you could choose the collection with a dropdown the way you can with the System font icon. If more keybaord shortcuts are added and collections made more intuitive, this would definitely be a 5-star app.

Intuitive and it just works

I'm blown away by how easy the makes handling my font collection and how seamlessly it works with my apps - both Adobe and Affinity. Well worth the price.
