Doubling up
Doubling up is fixed. Two winners and two losers every single time. Sometimes there will be a tie but always two and two. Still fun but not realistic like the real thing because of this.

Your analysis is spot on, Jimmy. In the very first version of our game, all 5 cards used during double-up were completely random as in a real casino. Because of that, sometimes the dealer's card was the highest card of the lot, which meant that the player could not avoid losing that round. While seasoned players are accustomed to this mechanic, some of our players felt that this was unfair. Since experts believe that the double-up feature has no 'house edge' and gives the player a 50/50 chance in the long run, we decided to give the player a 50/50 chance upfront. In the current version of our game, the double-up feature still draws 5 cards randomly. However, on the basis of card value, it identifies the 'middle card' and designates it as the dealer's card so that at least 2 cards are of lower (or equal) value and 2 cards are of higher (or equal) value. This way, players can rest assured that we're not deliberately making them lose a double-up round.
