Ratings and Reviews
Exports well. Reliably crashes when reading text directly.
The app seems to work fine for exporting text to AIFF but has a few areas that could use improvement:
- The default speech rate is 50 wpm which is so slow it sounds broken. Setting a new speech rate is not remembered between launches.
- After copying & pasting 31kb of text into the window, hitting play and then pause reliably crashes the program.
- The UI is a little confusing: To get out of the preferences, you have to hit “play” even if you don’t want to play the text, but Export. (The Preferences area is handled more like a tab than a dialog, like it should be.)
It would be nice if, when reading the text, it was able to highlight where one was at (on pause if not as it reads).
Still: It gets the job done.
