War Tortoise 2 12+

Foursaken Media has done it again by taking one the greatest idle/shooter games you can find on the App Store, and upgrading it to the next level and beyond! War Tortoise 2 brings back the classic elements from the original game that you know and love, while adding new elements such as base-building, story/campaign, and most noticeably exploration, to create the ABSOLUTE BEST SEQUEL ever made by Foursaken Media. This is a game that you SHOULD DOWNLOAD RIGHT NOW!

PROS (Most Noticeable): This game is so great that there are many awesome features about it, and so here are the best features of this game in my opinion. FIRST AND FOREMOST, and this is by far extremely important for some casual gamers, this game has NO POP-UP ADS! How ads work in-game is via a chest drop, which grant various bonuses after you watch the ad. You have the choice to not watch the ads with no penalty, but if you want something extra, you might want to watch one or two to stay ahead. You can also make an IAP to permanently remove the ads and get the bonuses for free. (Early game tip #1: look for the ads that grant you purchase discounts or lots of money.) SECOND, the exploration and base-building aspect of this game. The map that shows areas where your tortoise can explore is vast, meaning endless hours of exploring. As you explore more, you can find structures/bases to capture and gain various bonuses that will certainly help you in the long run. For example, capturing a gold mine earns you money whenever you’re not playing the game, while capturing an artillery base grants extra firepower. You can also build these structures yourself as you progress more into the game. The game’s difficulty also ties in well with exploration. The further out your tortoise is from your home base, the stronger your enemies will become. The story/lore of this game is also tied with exploration. (Early game tip #2: capture as many areas as possible, or max out the capture level in one specific area that you want to capture to get more resources.) THIRD, the revamped upgrade system. With the introduction of a new in-game currency, DNA, you can unlock Mutations that provide a variety of PERMANENT bonuses and abilities for your tortoise, support units, and your heroes. You also carry all your unlocked Mutations over to the next generation, so you don’t need to worry if you have to start over. You now acquire and collect various weapons and armour for your tortoise via War Supplies B, which take War Gems, also a new in-game currency, to purchase. (War Gems and DNA are earned as you play.) Each weapon or armour has its own rarity ranking, from common to legendary, and some have special bonuses to boot. Equipping weapons of the same type also grants additional bonuses to your tortoise. Additionally, your tortoise and your support units can equip various perks acquired via War Supplies A, which take in-game money to purchase. These perks include gaining extra critical chance, increased money earned per wave, equipping plasma swords or even missile launchers to certain support units which deal massive damage compared to their basic weapons, and so many more! (Early game tip #3: saving up for War Supplies, in some cases, is a better investment than spending on individual upgrades.)

OTHER PROS WORTHY OF NOTE: New tier/star ranking system for your support units, heroes, and pilots. Old and familiar support units and heroes from the original game have been given a new refreshed look. Daily questing system and a plethora of achievements for you to complete. Your tortoise now has a NICKNAME, with a new nickname per next generation. In-game graphics, SFX, and VFX are excellent and life-like at max settings.

CONS (Minor Concerns): FIRST AND FOREMOST. This game, regardless what mobile device you are using, WILL CONSUME BATTERY POWER QUICKLY. Playing on latest-generation devices may help because of improved battery efficiency and graphics/memory performance, though it’s not a permanent solution. Additionally, it’s not confirmed to be optimized for any mobile device yet. However, there is a battery saver mode that will disable all graphics settings except graphics quality in exchange of less battery drain. If you intend to play this game for a long period of time, and especially on the go, either play this game in short to moderate intervals or use a battery bank if you already have one. SECOND, since this game is still a recent release, you should expect to experience MANY crashes, bugs, or glitches as you play. If you do encounter any bugs while playing, you can submit a bug report via settings. (I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you do this whenever possible, so the devs can patch it up in the next update ASAP.) If you don’t want to play this game and have it crash on you constantly, I suggest you wait for a while until the game becomes stable. If you are eager to play this game, you must be able to heavily tolerate the crashes occurring randomly.

SUGGESTIONS FOR FUTURE UPDATES: Apple TV support (both 1080p and 4K models). Wired/Bluetooth controller support. Multiplayer modes (Co-op Mode w/ Split-screen support built-in on iPad or Apple TV, and Classic Survival Mode). iPhone X (and later generation iPhone) support. Game optimization on older devices. VR support and ARKit support for iOS.

FINAL VERDICT: If you ever wished for an awesome sequel to War Tortoise, like me, it’s safe to say that War Tortoise 2 is your answer. It’s one of those games that you’ll definitely want to play and keep on your mobile device. To the Foursaken Media devs, HUGE KUDOS TO YOU once again for your constant support to the players and fans who really enjoy playing your games, especially War Tortoise and War Tortoise 2. Never stop making awesome games such as this.

The game now has a map where your tortoise can travel around and can capture bases to get more things. It also has a more advanced upgrade system than before. The only issue I had was that the new ways to upgrade were a little bit confusing at first. The only other issue I had was that it now costs in game money which you don’t have to buy with real life money to revive some units if they die. But overall the upgrades and the new features are great and make the game more interesting.

A great balance between gameplay and just an idle game. Very fun.

My only issue being that by the time i get to the hard waves, my phone has overheated and dropped to 10FPS, killing me pretty quickly.
