Warhammer 40,000: Tacticus 12+

Super smooth, great graphics. Having fun!!

Before i delve deeper into this review i would like to state that i have played for a few weeks and even finished the indomitus campaign with full stars. The game has a good base concept at its core gameplay. Smooth graphics and fluid battles. However this is the end of the positives and where the IMMENSE list of negatives starts.

1. Corporate Greed. The most blatant and flagrant issue with the game is most of it is paywalled and all items on the store are greatly overpriced. And since most upgrades are paywalled, this leads to a Pay to Win game with big spenders having the strongest legendary heroes and other characters leveled so high that there is no competing against them.

2. Extreme lack of player choice. The designers wanted to obviously create a strategy game with a popular IP to sell, without understanding the core audience they are selling to. Warhammer is a world where players are strongly loyal to the brand but deeply divided into factions that are not only visually different, they also play completely different game styles. In this game, you have 0 choice. You are forced by the devs to play space marines for the sake of a lack of campign content. I, myself, am a death guard player. Yet i was not given a choice of starting with this faction. Instead ive been playing for countless hours with characters from factions that i have 0 interest in. And after that long, I am no closer to unlocking ANY of the death guard heroes. At this rate i wont even be able to play death guard a year down the road. Its SOLELY because of this reason that i chose to NOT spend a single dollar on this game. Had the designers given me a choice, and had i been playing death guard, i would probably be over 100$ into the game.

3. Stereotypical. The designers didnt even try to invent new content styles, gameplay features, etc. They just took similar games and copy pasted it with a 40k skin. Also ALL the cash grab tropes have been inserted to make sure they can take your money. Had they spent half the monetization design time and used it to to create original content, this could of been an amazing game.

4. Shameless Gambling. These kind of games that use gambling mechanics to pray on the week willed gamers and youth, who will pay hundreds and or thousands of dollars to draw what they are looking for is disgusting, shameful and should be downright illegal. How about you stop abusing your customers and instead make money legitimately by selling them exactly what they want. You want this hero? This is the price. ... Stop using shady tactics to literally scam people out of their money. Enough with the pay to draw a chest mechanics.

If they fixed these issues, it would be a 5 star game. They would not only have a significantly greater audience of loyal players and an increased player retention due to players being able to play and level the faction they actually enjoy, but also make ALOT more money. As it stands it barely deserves the 1 star i am giving them. And i would NOT recommend this game to anyone. At all.

This game is OBSESSED with taking your money and it will play EVERY trick in the book to milk you for all you’re worth.

Some of the games most generic characters cost up to $50 to unlock. Every purchase is a MINIMUM of $5, with most items/loot-boxes averaging around $25.

There is no game here. This is a glorified slot machine with pretty graphics. You are a fool to download this.
