Description
Watch Tuner Timegrapher is a mechanical (automatic or manual winding) watch testing application. It displays a frequency diagram of the watch and measures rate, beat error, amplitude and beats per hour.
The application uses the build-in or headset's microphone to record audible ticks of the watch.
Use this application in a quiet environment. Any ambient noise can affect result accuracy. Complete silence is the best however noise cancelling algorithm can help to eliminate not very loud sounds.The recommended way to record the ticks is to touch the crown of the watch with the headset (earplugs) microphone.
If you don't need the frequency diagram, look at Watch Tuner app.

Not for the average user.
While no watchmaker I’m mechanically inclined enough to conclude that this app without a contact microphone is not accurate enough to really tune a watch. For the average user it will be hopeless. I used a high quality lapel mic touching various parts of the watch. After a few minutes of adjusting settings I was able to get a reading but it did not seem repeatable. The window to even get a functional reading is very small. This needs a smarter auto range search so there is zero user input needed.
Does not work
Does not work properly with Samsung headset used with an IPad Pro. Maybe you have to use an Apple headset. Very difficult to adjust sensitivity
Terrific Tool for Budding Watch Enthusiast
I've used Watch Tuner Timegrapher (WTT) to learn more about three of my Seiko watch movements (7S26, 4R35, and 6R35), and even regulate one of them. Data from WTT matched observed behaviour of each watch. Consistent results are achieved with earbud micfrophone held across case back or crystal. I'm very happy to have found this app, and for the insight it gives me into the functioning of my watches for such a reasonable price.
