Just what I was looking for, very handy.
I got my first Mac in 2011 and I’ve been trialling weather apps for my Macs in Canada ever since. I’m a boater, we garden, and the weather varies a lot in our maritime province. This app seems to be fit the bill. For $5.49 I have a menu bar icon telling me the current and forecast temperature and cloud status that drops down with a click to give me a 7-day glance at the weather. A window sits on the desktop with more information but is only visible if I move overlying windows away. But a click on the app’s icon in the dock pops up a window with a lot more information that disappears conveniently when I shift mouse cursor focus to another app. Lots of today information, including the usual temperature, wind and cloud but also huymidity, dew point and sunrise/set. Shows 24-hour forecast for 3 days with another click. Forecast data are limited to temperature, wind, precipitation and cloud cover. No radar, synoptic charts etc. No moon data but that’s what the tide app is for. This is all I really want for a quick glance before heading outside or planning a day or two ahead. Or when the wife calls out “is it going to rain?” while I am working. I head to Environment Canada’s website for more detailed forecasting data if need be. The app detected my home city automatically. I was able to add other custom locations easily to the location dropdown for travelling. Well thought out app. The app downloaded for free on my MacBook too.
Needs Hourly forecast on desktop background
Overall pretty nice but very disappointed that I purchased the Pro version for the hourly forecast which
- cannot be displayed on the desktop background
- in the app window, needs to be accessed with an extra click to a special table with the hourly forecast - it's not very user friendly to access or to read.
Please make hourly forecast as pleasant and easy to use as the daily one!
