Description

Light hearted humour from the shores of Newfoundland and Labrador. The world's first Newfoundland and Labrador dialect soundboard.

Whaddaya App plays on the common Newfoundland and Labrador saying, "What are you at?" - meaning, how are you? Targeted at Newfoundland and Labrador Expatriates, locals and tourists, the creation of the app gives anyone living away a taste of home. Through audio clips of common expressions, we can keep the traditional dialect of our province alive for future generations.

Not entirely accurate

Quotes seem to be spoken by a city boy who’s lost touch with how to actually speak like a BayWop. Pronouncing “h” isn’t something we do.
Couple repeated quotes and some are poorly or rather too dryly translated. Tone of spoken phrases is also off, making some that are questions sound like a statement.
Make the translation list a bit more fun and I may pay for more phrases, for now this bay born Nfld’er can barely recommend this app. I am holding on in hopes!
