Bait and switch
Developer used a simple, clean, free app to draw everyone in and get tons of five star reviews. Latest update is a completely rebuilt game stuffed with intrusive, full screen advertising and in-app purchases. I would have been more than happy to pay to support great development. Shady, dishonest business practices earn immediate deletion.
Updated app leaves it full of ads and slow
When the game first launched. It was great. Loaded instantly, you had your own scores, all you. Even the icon was simple and perfect.
Now the app loads slowly, full of ads, wants to track you (it's wordle c'mon - let us pay you $2 for a game that you didn't make popular vs filling with ads), and no real improvement to the core experience.
The word list still contains words that even merriem-Webster doesn't define (or defines as a proper noun like a small town in Denmark). Unfortunately, deleted.
Ruined
Was good, simple, effective and no ads, now they’ve updated it and ruined it like morons
