YamaCast - MusicCast Remote 4+

Have a couple yamaha speakers in my place with the app on our phones which we love. We were excited to be able to use it on our laptop too but unfortunately it doesnt work. This is a non-functional app, don't waste your money like we did :(

Hello, please contact app's support to provide some more details about your setup and resolve the issues. Please notice that YamaCast adds an application's icon to the system's status bar instead of the dock.

I like the features but the user interface could use some work as it is a bit ugly and requires too many clicks for some simple tasks. Also it frequently can't find my speaker after I've woke my Mac up causing me to quit the app and relaunch.

Hello, the issue with finding speakers after waking up a Mac is already on the to-do list and it should be possible to resolve in the next uptade of the application. Stable operation of the app is a priority now, but some enhancements of the design which will improve user experience are also planned. Best regards

Amazing! This app is very well made and fits my workflow perfectly! I use it to control my Yamaha RX-V583 AV Receiver. Through it I can control playback, switch inputs and adjust the volume for both zones A and B, turn the unit on and off, plus much more..!

Before this app came out, I’d spent a great deal of time searching for an app that would allow me at least some kind of control of my AVR, but there simply weren’t any. I almost couldn’t believe my luck when it came out (and for me to have taken notice!).

As far as I know, no other AVR has a dedicated Mac App. I would say this sole app might indeed help Yamaha sell many AVRs & other Wi-Fi enabled audio equipment - in fact, I think Yamaha should give the dev a cut!

And speaking of the developer, Dariusz Niklewicz, he’s just awesome. Initially, in v1.0, my AVR wasn’t fully supported. I contacted Dariusz and he was quick and eager to help me out. He provided me with instructions to generate a log file directly from my AVR and in less than 24 hours the app had been updated and everything functioned perfectly. A few days later I suggested a UI improvement and he took me up on it; again, less than 24 hours later the app had been updated with my suggestion. I only wish more devs were like him!
