For Documents. Tag, organize, see, find.
Photos have iPhoto. Music has iTunes. But when it comes to PDFs and other office documents, you're on your own. That is, until now. Now there is Yep and there's no looking back.
Built for macOS Sierra. Works on 10.8+
Start Yep for the first time and it automatically shows you all your PDFs, iWork and Office documents. The strength in Yep is being able to see your documents and search through them with out needing to worry where exactly you saved it to. Add your own tags to documents - which is like storing them in two places at once. Yep also has the ability to automatically file documents into a simple date based folder system located in your Documents folder. The result is that its easy to keep a running track record of receipts, invoices, research papers - without having to think about where to store it.
Has a built in scanning interface optimized for documents.
Updates for latest Xcode, fixed a bug where a warning about Spotlight could appear in error, dragging fixes.

drag to add tag not working
I used to drag the file to the right side of the screen and add tags. This function seems doesn't work in this version, even I checked the box in preference, unless I keep the window open on the desktop. If I close the window, Yep quits also. Of course, I can keep Yep in the deck, and drag the file and drop on it. But Yep opens the file (sort of preview) which is a nice touch but not always necessary.
I was a long time user of Yep 1.8 which was awesome. Because it was a only a 32-bit application, I recently upgraded to version 3.8.5 - wow what a waste of money. I haven't moved over to Catalina and just restored my version 1.8. I can't work with the new version as it drives me crazy. Wish I could get my money back...live and learn.
Finally, after putting up with using Win machines since Win 3.1, I moved to the Mac about a year ago. One of the old Windows programs that I had was a brand of scanner software that allowed me to organize all of my scanned PDF thumbnails in a hierachical fashion based on the folders that they were in. I really did miss that when I migrated to the Mac. Then I noticed Yep in the App store - the screenshot looked very similar to what I was used to with my old scanner program, so I downloaded the app immediately. Very happy with this app, exactly what I was looking for! I haven't even started to use the tagging features yet!
Not only that - I had some difficulty setting up the app. I emailed the developer, and they were kind enough to email me back and forth about 4 times on a weekend to help me out! You cannot beat customer service like that!
Thanks, Ironic Software!
