I've been a long time user of Yojimbo on my Mac, and despite being tempted to switch to other services I find the mix of features and simplicity to be great for me. I was pretty excited to get my entire Library onto my iPad, but find myself barely using the app in favour of far more capable iOS document handlers like ReaddleDocs (or many other decent but uglier competitors like Goodreader).
My central beef is the inability to "Open In" PDF documents into other iOS apps in order to read / annotate, etc., considering Yojimbo is literally a "bare bones" archive. My only option is to Email the document, which is cumbersome at best and completely useless when I'm offline. Considering this is a $10 companion app I had much higher expectations - especially considering you can't add documents to your Yojimbo library via your iPad.
I hold out faint hope, but frankly after discussing this with the developer I don't hold out much hope. iOS support simply doesn't seem to be much of a priority whatsoever. As an alternative I'd suggest to simply export the documents you want into Dropbox and go from there.
Great Start but....
Its great to be able to take your Yojimbo notes with you. The downside here is that you can't create a note and sync it up to the desktop version.
However, I don't want to underestimate the value of having your Yojimbo data with you.
Creates security bigtime!
I like using this for last 2yrs instead of mainstream password keepers. They have developed many great software pieces at Barebones and Yojimbo is totally secure!
Up to six family members will be able to use this app with Family Sharing enabled.
