I don't like this at all! Having paper tickets is way more easy! I don't have data which means I can't use my tickets unless I have wifi? Ridiculous! And that one minute countdown, come on! is this a joke? This is so pointless! If my phone dies then what?! I know I can get a presto but what if I don't want to! This sucks!

Hi Nadia. If you save your tickets to the device, you do not need an internet connection to use them. Go to Storage Settings > Ticket Storage, to switch your tickets from the Cloud to the device (and vice versa). The one minute countdown is there to support the YRT/Viva fare policy of having valid fare before boarding, and to prevent passengers from validating their fare only when they see Enforcement approaching. The app is good to have in place of presto card in case if it is misplaced/lost. An enhancement can be made to reduce the activation time to around 10-15 seconds than 30+ seconds.
