If you do not have an Apple Watch, you can connect common Bluetooth heart rate monitors, such as the Polar H10, Garmin chest strap, and new Garmin watches, to view your heart rate zone progress live during a workout.

If you have an Apple Watch, use the Apple Watch app to see zones live on your wrist with haptic feedback, Siri announcements, and health metrics.

This is a great app. What would make it even better is if you could enter more specific workouts to track other than the categories that are provided.

Simple and Effective Heart Rate Training App

I use the Z2 app with a chest strap monitor only, without any watch. This means I rely entirely on audio cues to track my workouts. Despite some mixed reviews, I saw the app's great potential right after my purchase. What I love most about this app is its simplicity. I train based on my heart rate for all activities except strength training, and this app allows me to do that effortlessly by setting time goals for each zone and hitting start.

Initially, without a watch, I struggled to control my training variables since I couldn’t get real-time feedback. I could see the total minutes and zones after the workout, but I lacked in-the-moment updates. The latest update has addressed these issues. Now, the app can save goals from past workouts, making it easy to reload previous sessions. Most importantly, it now gives audio cues when a goal is reached, providing real-time feedback and helping me meet my targets.

For me, this app is a 5-star tool due to its simplicity and precise functionality. Although it's named "Zone 2" to target a specific audience, the app is versatile and works for all heart rate zones. It can be customized based on age and other parameters, including audio cue settings.

For those like me who want a straightforward app to track their workouts without spending much time configuring different sessions, this app is perfect. Highly recommended! Thank you.
