It doesn’t matter if you can’t skate and you have no stick-handling skills—if you have quick thumbs, you can be an MVP on the ice.
In Blocky Hockey, you play offence and are on a mission to get to the other end of the rink and score a goal. But first you’ll have to dart your way through all the players on the ice. Don’t swerve in time and you’ll take a hit. That means going back and starting again.
Of course, if you prefer to be the one throwing your weight around, you can go for a power-up: Just skate along the highlighted path long enough to fill your power bar and you’ll be checking players left and right as you barrel towards the net. But be ready for a fight after all that full-contact action. Fortunately, with some luck and quick taps, you’ll get in the most punches and emerge victorious. Once you’ve reached the net and taken aim for the perfect shot, your blocky little player will do a dance to celebrate his goal.
As you play, you’ll unlock new blocky players from familiar teams and other fun characters. The on-ice action gets more intense, but the gameplay remains relatively simple, just as hockey was always meant to be. In fact, the retro graphics, endless shooting, and pure fun might just take you back to the days of shooting slapshots in your driveway. So when you get a shot in, be sure to throw your hands in the air and yell “He shoots, he scores!” for old time’s sake.
