Day One Journal: Private Diary
Gratitude, travel, daily notes
With Day One Journal, taking the time to reflect on your day—or to record a fleeting moment—feels effortless.
What we love: As you write, Day One Journal records the current location, date, and time. You can also grab of-the-moment ephemera like the weather, a song you have playing, or your step count, to capture the feeling of each day or moment. And because sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words, you can add photos and drawings to bring your entries to life.
Quick tip: Head to the Siri Shortcuts section in Day One Journal’s settings and create a custom voice shortcut such as “New journal entry” that you can trigger with “Hey Siri.” You’ll also be able to revisit moments from the past by tapping on the On This Day section.
Meet the creator: Paul Mayne, founder of Bloom Built, created Day One Journal largely for his own use. “I had this idea for a life-tracking application, but it was too complicated,” he says. “Finally, I realized I should just start with something simple.”
