Mark up your documents with Apple Pencil.

With Pages for iPad, you can make handwritten notes in any document with your Apple Pencil. Instead of being fixed on the page, these annotations are anchored to your text and images, moving naturally within your document as you edit it.

Here’s how a teacher might use Pages to provide feedback on a student’s report:

Mark Corrections

Activate Smart Annotation mode (currently in beta) by tapping anywhere inside the document with your Apple Pencil. Once you do, you’ll be able to make notes, such as circling a misspelled word or underlining a letter that should be capitalized. Use the margins to offer praise or give additional feedback.

Make Changes

Annotations move automatically within the document as you add and delete text. Try it out by placing the cursor in the middle of a sentence and inserting a few words. Nearby annotations you’ve made will move as you type, keeping them where they belong.

If you no longer need an annotation, tap it for the option to delete it.

Or get a clean view of your document by hiding all annotations. Tap the Done button to exit Smart Annotation mode, then tap the View Options icon in the top left to toggle Smart Annotation off.
