Since revolutionizing racing back in 1992, Mario and friends have yet to come across a track they can’t handle. Now the Mushroom Kingdom’s most-skilled racers are at it again in Mario Kart Tour—and this time they’re cruising all over the world.

Fans will have plenty of reasons to fall for Mario’s mobile karting debut: Drifting! Item boxes! Karts, gliders, and a motley cast of characters! It’s everything you love about Mario Kart, now in the palm of your hand.

In addition to famous courses like Kalimari Desert, Koopa Troopa Beach, and the ever-challenging Rainbow Road, you’ll zoom through new stops in real-world locations like New York, Tokyo, and Paris (with more to come via in-game updates).

And in a cool new twist, matching your racer, kart, or glider to the course grants additional bonuses. Race as Yoshi on the Yoshi Circuit, for instance, and you’ll have three item slots instead of one. That extra Mushroom could mean the difference between first and fifth.

While packed with the content of a full-console release, Mario Kart Tour has been streamlined for mobile play, with simple swipe-and-tap steering you can pull off with one hand. Looking for more control? Enable Manual Drift and try to nail those elusive purple boosts.

You’ll need ’em. Whether you’re scooping up Grand Stars to unlock more courses or taking on mission-like challenges for more rewards, there’s always a race waiting in Mario Kart Tour. Just don’t get overconfident—the spiny shells are waiting too.
