刺绣——“以布为纸、以线当墨、以针做笔、以绣迹构成花纹图案”是针尖上的国粹。然而，随着机械制造业的蓬勃发展，传统的手工绣作品，正逐渐被机绣所取代。随之而来的是各种绣法逐渐被淡忘，从事刺绣的人数在慢慢减少，刺绣艺术在逐步流失。
中国有着几千年的刺绣工艺，如今，刺绣更是走进了时尚的圈子，从当季服饰的刺绣装饰，到走秀舞台的刺绣旗袍，无不彰显刺绣文化的博大精深。
