Doppler is a beautifully designed FLAC player and MP3 player with support for many file formats. Import music and playlists to listen offline, and edit song and album artwork and info without syncing.
Doppler's design adapts itself to match your music, and offers quick access to your now playing queue. Tap straight into a recently added album or use search to browse your music.
Music and playlists are always stored local on your device, so you have your full Library whenever you need it — even offline. Doppler even imports new files automatically to make sure your Library is always up to date.
Doppler supports a wide variety of different music file formats, including FLAC, MP3, WAV, AAC, M4A and many more. Music files are stored local on your device for offline playback. Doppler works great for flights and the metro where you don't have WiFi.
Doppler supports Bluetooth and AirPlay 2 so you can listen in your Car or through AirPods, HomePod or any bluetooth enabled speaker. Doppler now also includes a CarPlay app.
To help keep your Library organised Doppler supports editing metadata for Songs and Albums — directly on your device and without the need for a computer. Doppler also offers the option to find and download missing artwork.

So many missing features
I’m intrigued by your concept of the unique direct Mac integration, which is usually a massive and unbearable PITA - congratulations for that! But, although Doppler is a fine app, I’m using Marvis and I must say that apart from your integration technology, there is nothing else that can beat my favourite player in terms of usability. Marvis is almost perfect and in comparison, (for a paid app) Doppler’s only gimmick is the above mentioned. It is missing too many things such as total customisation including all player elements and even the app icon, song lyrics and information display, album cover zoom view, light mode, you know all that stuff that really makes a true geeky app while still keeping the simple and streamlined style of a legacy Apple product. I honestly think you’ve been a bit lazy and until you try harder and provide way more options, this one is not for me.
For context: I’m a music geek and album lover and since Apple’s descent into the Cook-era and subsequent devastation of ALL their entertainment apps, I’m on a quest for the perfect Music app.
No subscription, offline
Loaded up the iPad with music for my wife’s 50th birthday party and it worked without a hitch, playing all night long. Perfect! 👍
I was looking for a direct USB cable and “mount as a drive” option to import music but the option via the website worked just as well.
I wanted to import whole directories but had to select all the files directly to import them. It wasn’t so bad. 😄
I had to use the iPad because the iPhone cannot be charged while playing music via headphones… but that’s an Apple problem. And I didn’t mind this being an iPhone app that gets zoomed on the iPad because I wasn’t planning on looking at it.
