Very well designed game

This game is fabulous and splendid. Maybe make the free trial a little bit longer so that the players can feel more immersed. Otherwise, this game is very well done. Good luck in future titles and keep it up!

Here are my suggestions

Ok so I’ve played through a bit more and have some more suggestions. This will mainly be about the battles.
I’m currently on the stage where bousert has left the island and there are 6 waves, it’s really difficult, specifically the third wave. I don’t know why. Please make it a tad bit easier if possible. Next, one thing I noticed is that there isn’t really that much to the battles. You have four troops, you know what the enemy is going to do, and you plan out a Defence. But after that, it’s kind of just wait and see. You can give your troops the two commands but that is about it. Another problem is that troops don’t engage in groups but in distances. My suggestion is to make the range 2+ than the detection range for ranged troops really. Another thing would be to make nearby troops shoot the enemy when a nearby friend is doing so. T hi a will make is to that there isn’t just one line of troops on the right attacking, which then dies, then the next line, but instead maybe 3 lines. Archers or the magic people can move forward when they detect commotion. I also have an alternate idea that requires a lot of revamping but can fix both this issue and the staleness whilst watching the battle player out. And that is to make troops have small “groups”. In a group, you can command where your troops go as well as whether they focus on attacking the nearby enemy, holding there positions and concentrating on moving to an area. You can then drag groups to where they want to go and each one can have a small move or hold or attack button. You can highlight groups via big squares or something. You could form them after placing you troops in a separate stage. It adds more depth, more different tactics, more control and more intensity and frantic-ness during the battles. It keeps the pacing at a higher level. Keep in mind that you need to make the battles have higher pacing since all other parts of game are rather relaxed. If you don’t like this idea or feel like it involves to many changes and work, you can let the player command a certain hero or something and actually fight in the battle. It gives the player something to do. Another thing is that it takes a while for the troops to begin to fight. If possible, make the enemies closer so that the real battles begin faster. Another thing that might help is more juice. Particle effects, mild blood if it doesn’t raise the game’s rating, sparks from clashing swords, screen shake etc. It will all help make the battles feel stronger.

I deleted my previous review points because it’s simply too long and I can’t write so much but I still hope you appreciate the feedback. Keep in mind that some of these suggestions may turn out to be either good or bad or may be taken badly by the rest of the players, so keep that in mind. You aren’t obligated to implement anything, these are just suggestions from one person

Thanks for reading bye

Update: Thanks again a lot for you valuable feedback! I am making some improvements at the moment to make the battles more engaging (I have to say, once you progress more, you will get more siege weapons that you need to control, and more animals as well; this does increase the intensity already). But I love some of your suggestions, and I think I will definitely use (some of) them (partly) in the future. I really appreciate your support and feedback, many thanks again.

PS for level 5, make good use of infantry to fight of the animal spiders. And use your catapults to shoot the enemies ranged units as well!

Hi there, thanks a lot for your review and great feedback! It really helps a lot. You appear to be quite knowledgeable on these topics, and such a detailed feedback is what I need now to improve Herodom. So thanks a lot for that!

I understand your feedback on the writing. With your tips, I think I can improve it a lot. I made the advisor a bit arrogant/ annoying to make it funny, but I guess that is not well transfered. I need to reiterate on this, maybe start over a bit and change her appearance/ personality indeed.

With regard to the introduction, you give some very valid points. This part can you use some extra attention, like some more storytelling and visual instructions instead of text. I like the idea on strings of lore in the village about Bousert. And a cutscene where we can see him raid the village for example. Really great ideas! I am going to think this all through, let it sink in and hopefully implement (some of) your suggestions in the near future.

If you have any additional feedback or tips you like to share, you coul post it here or contact me via rednasgamesinfo@gmail.com . I really really appreciate your feedback, thanks a lot!

Take care and all the best, the developer
