INDS Data Manager (IDM) by Jeppesen and Honeywell provides pilots and operators, who subscribe to INDS services, the ability to seamlessly upload their flight-critical databases directly to the Honeywell avionics, through a wireless connection, to the aircraft using an iPad and a supported wireless gateway. This iPad application is a first for the aviation industry. With the proper aircraft equipment and configuration, it greatly improves efficiencies in the data update process. By combining the data distribution and data loader process into one simple tool, it saves pilots and operators time and cost uploading the aircraft with flight-critical information each cycle.

Bug Fixes

Terrible application

This is an absolutely horrible app which apparently wasn’t field tested. As you login the app will send data to a server, which is absolutely useless when all you’re trying to do is update the database of your airplane. After you wait for ages and you manage to download the desired database, you need to select which database to upload and obviously displaying a user-friendly name such as “chartsIssue20aug21” would make things too easy so they name them with the cycle number. It makes it more likely that you’ll upload the same database twice. Exactly what you need.
Also, the upload interface now shows three columns which allow you to first send the database to the airplane server..... and then install it from this server. Instead of just pushing and update button, the more complicated the better.
Congratulations on making it 10 times more difficult than the previous INDS application. Not everybody can achieve that.
