Encouraging and fun

I love the app, its design, the sound effects, etc. It's fun and encouraging, you don't get bored while studying a language.

But: I always wanted to learn Nepali, unfortunately I don't have enough time to f.e. learn the language with a book. Ling would be perfect, as it's on the phone and easy to use, but the price for buying the app is too high for me. It's just a little sad for me, but I still like the app and see much potential in it.

Very nice app

I'm very happy with the app and the quality. Very good content, so that it is fun to learn in small chunks.
Possible improvments to get 5 stars:
- I'm learning serbian and some of the audio is much louder than others - would be nice to have same audio quality for all samples
- I'd like an offline mode, e.g. to learn in the airplane or on a trip

Hi M! Thank you for taking the time out of your day to write a review of Ling. I am glad that you are enjoying the language learning journey with us. We're always working to make our content better. I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues with the audio volumes. If you do encounter this in a noticeable place, please tap on the ! inside of a circle that will be on that screen and then submit an error report and let us know what is wrong with the volume, so we can bring it to the attention to our Language team that handles these types of things long with errors in the languages.
As to your request for offline mode, this is something that we used to offer, but it was causing unexpected issues with other parts of our app, so we removed it and we do plan to offer it again in the future, but not until it is rock solid, so it will depend on our development team and their priorities and their development. I don't have a timeframe yet for it to be re-rolled out, but it is something that we are wanting to bring back. Doesn’t let you try the app at all

It prompted me for a review already after about a twenty step sign up process including making me subscribe for a year for only a seven day free trial. I haven’t used the app at all and it wants all sorts of info and to notify me about stuff. Very annoying.

I'm sorry to hear about your experience. We understand that the sign-up process can feel lengthy, and I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. The information we collect is used to track your streaks and progress, ensuring you get the most out of the app.

You raise a great point, and I will pass this along to the appropriate team. Our aim is to onboard users and get them up and learning with Ling as quickly as possible, and it seems like we have failed to do that here.
