MindNode: Mind Map & Outline 4+

Gegenüber der alten Version ist nur noch ein eingeschränkter Funktionsumfang vorhanden. Die Verwaltung von vielen Minds direkt in der App ohne Verzeichnisstruktur wird schnell unübersichtlich und ist sicher keine Lösung für die Zukunft. Bilder und PDF’s können nicht mehr direkt aus dem Mind exportiert werden. Wieso man sich nicht an Funktionen und Datenverwaltung der alten Version gehalten hat, erschliesst sich nicht wirklich.

Danke für das Feedback! Wir wissen, dass MindNode Next und MindNode Classic noch keine identischen Feature haben. Uns ist aber auch klar, dass Folder und und das Exportieren von Bildern und PDFs einen großen User Nutzen bieten können. Aus dem Grund arbeiten wir bereits daran, hoffen aber auf dein Verständnis, dass uns das noch ein wenig Zeit kostet. Ich werde es jedenfalls nochmal im Team zur Sprache bringen. Du hast Recht, MindNode Classic ist eine dokumentenbasierte App, während MindNode Next eine „shoeboxed“ App ist. Das bedeutet, dass die App die Dokumente selbst verwaltet, anstatt sie im Dateisystem zu speichern. In MindNode Next werden Dokumente in CloudKit gespeichert – nicht in iCloud Drive oder bei einem Drittanbieter für Dateifreigabe.
Der Grund dafür ist, dass die meisten neuen Apple-Apps, wie Notizen, Fotos und Freeform, keine dokumentbasierten Apps sind. Sie verwenden ebenfalls CloudKit zur Speicherung ihrer Daten. CloudKit ist die Server-Technologie, die Apple für alle seine Web-Dienste nutzt – sogar iCloud Drive basiert darauf.
Ein großer Vorteil der synchronisierten Datenbank in MindNode Next gegenüber Dateien in iCloud Drive (wie in MindNode Classic) ist, dass das System deine Dokumente nicht auslagert. Sie sind also immer verfügbar, selbst wenn du offline bist – zum Beispiel im Flugzeug.

As a long time user of ithoughts I have searched long and hard for a replacement - MindNode is not it!

Importing ithoughts files is next to impossible. And when you search for help, you are met with a link on the MindNode website apologising for the error. With an oops! Total amateur night!

Finally, when it’s suggested to contact them with questions, no email address provided! Just a window inviting me to use an email service I don’t use, or an ‘other’ option asking me for details incoluding my email account password

Given the standards of incompetence demonstrated thus far, only a complete idiot would resort to furnishing this developer with such information

Frankly - I despair!

Surely someone in this space can do better!
