Do not touch with a barge pole. If you subscribe to the service with the free monthly test and pay with paypal it starts an automatic payment with paypal. There ist no sign of a subscription in the apple account. This might let you think that there is no current subscription. However there is. I noted a charge via paypal and discovered that it was an automatic payment setting in paypal. So you cannot stop the subscription via your apple account but in this case only via your paypal account. I suspect they will not send me a refund since somewhere hidden in all the gibberish is sure a remark that this is normal business practtice for them. So my question is why not normal subscription via apple account ?

Thanks for trying to unjustifiably damage our business with a negative and deliberately misleading review. As I said in my email to you, I'm sorry you feel this way. However your anger and confusion is misplaced as we have done nothing wrong. Your primary contention is that all companies that offer apps for download via the app store must offer subscriptions via Apple and not externally under any circumstances. And that any companies that don’t offer their subscriptions through the app store (such as Musiah) are guilty of somehow misusing the app store and duping customers like you into signing up for a subscription that they could not possibly manage. This is of course utter rubbish. As we make abundantly clear, access to Musiah lessons requires a subscription which can only be obtained at the Musiah website. You must have read and been aware of this as you went to the Musiah website and signed up for a subscription beginning with a free trial. However you failed to take note of any of the relevant details such as the large heading that states "Cancel any time during the 14 day trial and you will not be charged” - the conditions are not, as you imply in your review “hidden in all the gibberish”. Further, during sign-up, you were given notice of the date your nominated payment method (PayPal) would be charged during sign-up. And the frequency at which you will be charged (in this case monthly) is also advised. As no cancellation was received from you, charges were automatically applied at the end of the trial period and monthly thereafter. You state, “I noted a charge via PayPal and discovered [as if it had been hidden from you] that it was an automatic payment setting in PayPal”. Firstly, when you signed up, PayPal would have emailed you to the effect that a recurring subscription had been initiated by you. But perhaps more relevantly, in addition to our series of Welcome emails (in which we give you several ways you can contact us for support), we also sent you an auto-email payment receipt for each of your payments. So if, as you contend (despite PayPal’s emailed confirmation), that you couldn’t possibly have known you had an active Musiah subscription, surely our first emailed payment receipt could reasonably have been expected to alert to the subscription you signed up for? And you could have replied to that email at any time inquiring about how to cancel fi you were unsure of the process. In answer to your question about why we don’t offer subscriptions via the app store; the manner in which charges are applied by Musiah is no different to an app store subscription. However, if we offered our subscriptions via the app store as opposed to our own website, we would have to increase the price to cover Apple's commission of 30% in the first year and 15% thereafter. And we prefer to keep the price down. In closing, I note that none of our other customers has ever had an issue with this - just you.
