Description
College dropout Mae Borowski returns home to the crumbling former mining town of Possum Springs seeking to resume her aimless former life and reconnect with the friends she left behind. But things aren't the same. Home seems different now and her friends have grown and changed. Leaves are falling and the wind is growing colder. Strange things are happening as the light fades.

NIGHT IN THE WOODS is an adventure game focused on exploration, story, and character, featuring dozens of characters to meet and lots to do across a lush, vibrant world. Break stuff, play bass, hang out, walk on powerlines, jump between roofs, and discover strange and amazing and terrible things you never asked for. Come home and waste your life away in Possum Springs.

Disclaimer: Despite the cute style this game is not for younger kids, I first played it at fourteen and it hit me pretty hard with its darker topics.
What can I say, it’s a masterpiece.
The art style is amazing, the environment incredibly detailed and the writing is thoughtful, smart and often very touching. Did I mention the soundtrack? This atmospheric adventure game is one that sticks with you. It has become a comfort game for me that I replay almost every fall. It’s cozy with some spookier undertones that keep you hooked to the plot. Talk to different characters, explore your hometown in a beautiful fall setting and find out some secrets along the way.
This game makes you feel like it’s okay to feel lonely or lost in your 20s and it’s going to be okay.
