I’m going to delete this app. Want to know why? I’ll tell you. Due to the fact that I studied media studies (Masters Degree) I know pretty much everything about advertisement. I’m immune to it. I can’t see them, I can’t remember them and they can’t influence me in a way they are supposed to. If ads are invasive or obtrusive, I get very upset. There is a line they definitely shouldn’t cross (in my opinion it shouldn’t be possible to make ads in an app but …. money money, right?!). This includes every single ad which is forced on to you, where it’s nearly impossible to avoid it … constantly in your way, blinking and flashing and you can’t even remove it. If this happens, I get very angry.

So… with the newest update…they managed to implement this. It is invasive and it gives me the impression of desperation or even greed for money. They even put one level on top of it with giving the option of removing the ads by paying for it. I’m mindblown…I have no words left.

In my case they just brought me to the decision of deleting this app forever and being upset about these presumptuous ads. I won’t ever recommend any of these games. The opposite: I’ll warn every single person about it.

I highly recommend to change that back. I do understand they want to make money in one or the other way. The ads between the games are annoying but I can live with those.

They shouldn’t have crossed that line and force people to give attention in such an obtrusive, presumptuous and invasive way. It is important that people can withdraw from the interfering ad, if they wish to do so. With the newest update it is nearly impossible keep your attention to the game. The ad is flashing, on purpose in your way and you can’t remove it by clicking a “close” button.

I’m as well a programmer. Therefore I know as well some things about apps, webpages, plattforms, advertisements and the systems ie. mechanisms im the backend l, about the ways and options to make money with it. So I know there are other ways to make money. They shouldn’t do it by manipulating people.

Normally people do not have this knowledge about this. So…they download the app and enjoy some time with playing games.

Why not?

I did it too and enjoyed it.

But many do it with their guards down…carefree and without giving a thought about anything or being aware of anything. In other words they give some amount of trust. They enter a space which is offered to them in an appealing way. A space where they can be carefree. With the latest update they unfortunately abuse this too much.

I hope they change it back.
