With its combination of literary discoveries, incisive criticism, essays, poems and debate, the TLS is for anyone with an interest in the world of culture and ideas. In addition, you will find an easy search function, the weekly TLS podcast and full access to years of back issues. From fiction to philosophy, religion to politics, social studies to film: TLS readers can decipher, discuss and delve into it all.
The TLS app is free to download and you can access the contents in the following ways:
1) If you subscribe to the TLS, simply log in by using your surname and your subscriber number.
2) You can buy individual issues for £2.99 or an auto-renewing subscription at £7.99pm from the iTunes store.
Subscription renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of your current period, otherwise the account will be charged as normal. You can manage your subscription and turn off auto-renewal by going to Account Settings.

The TLS app is a terrible one. When I try to download current issues, I keep receiving a message that authorization has failed, there is a problem with the authorization program. I cannot download issues I have already purchased, nor can I download new ones. I try to find app support, but there isn't any. When I call the TLS number to which I am directed, they say they have nothing to do with purchases by the Apple app. So there is, in effect, no support for the app. I think I will just have to cancel everything.
Works very well
I had a lot of trouble to access the app. TLS was unable to help me to login. It took several phone calls over a couple of months to the subscription department (nobody else would listen to my complaints) for the technicians to finally solve my problem. So I understand why one user was completely frustrated by the app.
However, now that I can download issues and read them on my iPad I am really pleased. The app is easy to use, offers a number of nice features, like the scrapbook and the various ways to get more information or larger pictures, and the app seems to be stable. For now I give it four out of five stars. The feedback and support section could use improvement, but other then that I'm pleased. I like reading the TLS on my iPad.
