- A standard deck is used, with no jokers. An equal number of 13 cards is dealt to each player's hand. Each player must keep the number of cards that they own clearly visible at all times. Going clockwise, each player then takes a turn consisting of one of two options:
1) Pass without playing any card.
2) Play a single card face down on the table. The played card is claimed to match the rank announced by the lead, but in fact, the card may or may not match this rank. Note that the rank announced by the lead must be followed until the round is over.
