After accepting all relevant permissions when prompted, keep an active Bluetooth connection to the tag and network, and you're good to go. Easy.

The Smart Driver App is combined with a driver tag to track the key driver data elements and proactively detect impacts. Trips are automatically recorded and analysed to help improve driving behaviour, using a Bluetooth Low-Energy (BLE) connection to provide extended battery life.

The App uses trip data to dole out rewards. Trips are not recorded when there is no Bluetooth connection, or your phone's battery is depleted. That will mean no Smart Driver Rewards for you. Not the smart way to go.
