• Provides a Done button above the keyboard when editing a Note, as an alternative to swiping away the note editor. • Improves how sync is handled for Contacts entries that are organisations, or do not have full names e.g., only have a given name. • Provides fixes that enable more efficient storage of some data. • Adds a placeholder in Intro’s Settings for the future ‘Export all content” feature, coming in Intro 2.1.

This version separates out settings relating to merging duplicate people into a new "Duplicates" section in the in-app settings, and provides a new option to manually trigger a merge of duplicate people, alongside the existing option to automatically merge duplicates during sync and import. This update provides further performance improvements related to how long-running background operations are handled during sync and import activities. It also provides a fix for an issue that could prevent successful completion of the automatic upgrade introduced in Intro 2.0.2 that runs on launch for existing installs.

Further refinements to the way content lists are updated makes for a substantially smoother performance both when new content is synced in via iCloud and also when Intro is synching with the Contacts app—for users who have enabled either or both of these features in Intro's settings. Accessibility: Updated VoiceOver descriptions for all timeline entries, providing an improved description of content that is also significantly easier to navigate as each timeline entry is now a single accessibility element.

This update provides a number of layout improvements and fixes a number of small bugs: • In the Notes tab, Card views will now show up to 30 lines of a note before truncation. • Notes without titles and blank notes will now appear in the Notes view like they do in the Global timeline. • Improved performance in loading lists of items when selecting people, notes or groups to link to other content. • Corrections in some calculations on linked timeline views, in particular which items fall in the “This Week” range when you are in the final day of a week, based on the day you have selected as the start of the week in iOS System Settings. • Provides improvements in the importing and linking to entries in the iOS Contacts app that are Organization entries, or where the person has no name information. Such entries could also previously create duplicate entries within Intro in the global timeline. An upgrade that runs on launch resolves those historical duplicates. • When two people are merged together in Intro, the system at times creates a ‘merge note’ that provides additional information about the merge. This update improves the formatting of these merge notes, and updates them to only display directly on the focus timeline of the relevant person, so they are not displayed in the main Notes list nor in the Global Timeline.

Performance improvements in loading items in the People, Notes and Global Timeline tabs. The Global Timeline now automatically loads content as you scroll, so no matter how far you scroll back through your history you'll never have to tap "Load More".

A complete redesign of the application, with a new look and a new timeline-focussed paradigm. Intro 2.0 is everything Intro has always been but so much more. New options enable you to view People and Notes in a number of list- and card-based formats. For any item in Intro, view a timeline of related people, notes and groups, for a new unified way to see the links between content. For users on iOS 18, Intro now provides the option to sync with just selected Contacts app entries, as well as the previous full sync or no sync option. This version provides a new foundation for the ongoing development of Intro to provide additional ways you can keep track of the things you want to remember.

An important upgrade to thumbnail rendering, resolving issues that could arise where black thumbnails could be rendered when photos were taken with the high resolution cameras on the most recent iPhone models. The next release, Intro v2.0, will be a significant update. Intro 2.0 will require iOS 16. Users still on iOS 15 will be able to continue to run Intro 1.9.6. This update provides significantly faster fetches of people from the database. This will be most noticeable for users with large datasets, when navigating to the Search section from the main menu. The next release, Intro v2.0, will be a significant update. Intro 2.0 will require iOS 16. Users still on iOS 15 will be able to continue to run Intro 1.9.4. This update adds new local database capabilities to automatically store a timeline of entities and links as you create them in Intro. This groundwork is preparation for new features for users that will be released in a future version of Intro. The current update also resolves an issue when adding links to a person, group or note where the list of things you could link might not initially show all of the linkable content. This update also resolves an issue where Intro would prompt for access to iPhone Contacts when opening a person in focus mode in Intro, if you have not previously initiated sync with the Contacts app. This now again only occurs when explicitly initiated by the user. Accessibility: Intro 1.9.3 includes significant improvements to the VoiceOver experience in the Contact Editor, both when accessing previously saved information and also when in edit mode. The next release, Intro v2.0, will be a significant update. Intro 2.0 will require iOS 16. Users still on iOS 15 will be able to continue to run Intro 1.9.3. If you have multiple devices running Intro, you will be able to share data between the two versions via iCloud sync.

This update improves rendering and animation performance when editing contact information for a person. It also updates Intro's database on first launch to address an issue that for some users may have duplicated prefixes, middle names or suffixes some people in Intro. This database update also supports other changes in this version, and provides support for features in upcoming releases.

When a person's bio field is updated, it will now again be immediately updated in the iPhone Contacts if you have Contacts sync enabled, rather than only being updated when other contact details were also synced. This update resolves an issue where linking a person from a new Note that has been created from the main menu could lead to Intro unexpectedly quitting. This update also resolves an issue where a user may be prompted whether they wanted to sync Intro with the iPhone Contacts app during routine use of Intro, without the user having proactively prompted this sync. Improvements to the accessibility of adding new items in the contact editor.

A completely redesigned Contact Editor makes it much easier to add, edit, re-order and when needed to delete contact information. This version also includes performance improvements to the sync process between Intro and the Contacts app, and multiple other minor performance enhancements and minor bug fixes.

From launch you'll notice the most obvious addition in this update, a new "+Note" button in the main menu to make it even quicker to create a note, right alongside the renamed "+Person" for adding people. Easy come, easy go—this update also adds an additional toolbar control so you can delete a note or bio while you're editing them, should you chose to do so. Under the hood, Intro 1.8 has some fabulous improvements for performance for users with a large amount of data... I'm so pleased to bring this quality of life improvement, which is big enough that every user is likely to feel the difference. As part of achieving those speed improvements, the search views for people and notes now initially load the first subset of results, where there's a lot of data to display. When you scroll to the bottom of the list, tap "Load More" to fetch additional results. This update comes hard on the heels of the recent 1.7 release, which added the option for you to have your data and settings sync to your private iCloud account. This provides an off-device copy for you, and sync between multiple iOS devices signed into your Apple ID. These updates also both include some important bug fixes, so updating is recommended to all users. I am now now working on the significant enhancements and redesign that is coming with Intro 2.0. Intro now provides iCloud sync for your data, which you can enable in the in-app Settings. This will sync your data to your private iCloud store, and will also sync your data between devices if you have Intro installed on multiple iOS devices logged into your iCloud account. Intro now requires iOS 15. Devices on an earlier version of iOS can continue to run the old version of Intro in standalone mode. Those devices cannot sync with Intro on your other devices until upgraded to iOS 15. If you enable iCloud sync, your settings for Intro will also be synced across devices automatically. This update also includes numerous infrastructural improvements, with a particular focus on performance in Contacts sync processes, and minor bug fixes. It is a strongly recommended upgrade for all users.

The Julius: Resolves an issue where when you tapped to edit a person's bio field, the collection would sometimes incorrectly scroll left to open the person's contact details card instead. Recent changes to image storage had the side effect that when a person did not have a photo, but had an avatar set, you would see this avatar displayed in the photo card when focussing on a person. This has now been returned to the way it worked previously: if no photo is set, this card always gives you instructions for loading an image. Please note the next update to Intro will require iOS 15. This will include an update that will provide multi-device sync. The current version of Intro will continue to run as a standalone app if you are running a version of iOS prior to iOS 15.

This update fixes a pesky and longstanding issue where under certain conditions, updating a person's name in the Contacts editing interface would result in both the old and new names being overlaid on each other in the header. In Intro's Settings, you've been able in recent versions to manually trigger a sync with device contacts. If you hadn't previously approved access to device contacts, however, this just politely went away. It will now instead prompt you to approve access to device contacts—as you'd expect. When you select to search by Physical Features in the Search view, the text entry in the search bar isn't currently relevant, so is hidden. This update fixes an issue that led to that also occluding the top few pixels of the scope buttons also. The main focus of this update is under-the-hood changes to the Intro's database structure and systems that further build the foundation for future developments.

Resolves an issue in the last update where when an image was set for a person it would store a thumbnail but fail to store the full resolution image, or where deleting an image could still leave the thumbnail attached to the person.

A minor point update with no obvious user-facing changes yet this is an update I've been looking forward to shipping for over a year. Substantial under-the-hood developments that increase performance, stability, and provide the infrastructure for the next stage of Intro's development.

A number of new users with the iPhone 12 Pro Max experienced an issue with the last version of Intro where Contacts import would unexpectedly halt mid-import on first import, and the Contacts that had not been synced would not sync into Intro on subsequent launches. This update fixes the underlying issue that caused this bug. Additionally, on first launch this version will automatically trigger a full sync process to resolve the issue for existing users. A "Sync Now" button has been added to Settings. In normal circumstances, this should not be required. However, if an expected sync has not occurred between Intro and your iPhone contacts, you now have a way to manually initiate a sync. Please let me know via the in-app Support about any circumstances where you are needing to use this as it is intended this should not normally be necessary. Autocomplete suggestions can be useful. Previously, however, when the autocomplete bar appeared above the keyboard as you moved to the new field while creating a new person, this would incorrectly trigger Intro to think it was displaying a new card, and it would move the cursor to the first empty field. If that wasn't the field you were trying to edit, it was a bit jarring. Well, that's fixed. Thank goodness. That was annoying.

Further updates to Intro's process for synching between device contacts and people in Intro.  The version of Intro you're running is now shown at the bottom of the in-app Settings screen. With this release, Intro now requires iOS 11.2+. This change is required as this is the minimum iOS version for compatibility with Intro's current features.

"The Melanie"* This update improves the sync engine for the situation where: a) you previously were syncing contact data between Contacts and Intro, then b) turned this off by disabling it in Settings, then c) changed one or more of the same contacts in both Contacts and in Intro, and d) then subsequently turned sync back on. Underpinning this is a substantial re-write of the sync engine that is even more robust than before. This update resolves an issue which prevented the selection of Learn Priorities in the Learn tool. This update also resolves issues that could occur on some occasions in the past when items within a collection of cards, such as on the search view, were not reloaded correctly when information relating to the displayed cards had been updated in the background. * Intro releases are named after people who have provided important app feedback, useful feature requests, or contributed helpful bug reports. Names are often changed to protect the innocent.

This update improves a number of minor issues associated with showing and hiding the keyboard in both Notes and the New Person view. In the New Person view, cards should now more reliably preserve their correct height and the show/hide keyboard button will have the expected effect, even when creating multiple people at once and swiping between people during editing. Accessibility: Fixes an issue for uses with larger accessibility text sizes in Search. Previously, the controls to switch between the four search types—People, Features, Groups and Notes—would be hidden from the user if the search box became too tall for the header view on this screen. This was of course not intended and this update fixes this.

This update provides better handling of merging contacts within Intro when they are from different sources within your iPhone Contacts. This update also resolved an issue introduced in a previous update that could cause the face and name learning tool in the app to be unavailable. Additional improvements have been made to how a person's role information is handled (job title, department and organization) when you select to merge two people in Intro. Intro now prevents the date view on dated cells from being updated to display the day of the month as "0" during the process of deletion, which was sometimes visible during the process of deleting a dated cell—such as a note in a notes list. This version also adds information on the Settings screen of when any previous pass, subscription or trial expired, when there is not a current purchase to restore. Accessibility: Subheadings on main menu buttons are already set as accessibility hints, so they should not also be read as standalone labels nor treated as targets by VoiceOver. This was implemented previously but the change had been undone by app-wide accessibility fixes in other code that incorrectly affected these labels also.

Important fix for the process of syncing with your iPhone contacts, with changes particularly for the process on the first time you enable this. Highly recommended all users upgrade to this version. Sync from the Intro Bio to the Notes field in the Contacts app is once again enabled in this release, having received the required additional entitlement permissions from Apple. Contact details are now automatically de-duplicated when an Intro person is written to the Contacts app, so you will for instance no longer have two identical phone numbers with identical labels on a contact, if this was stored previously.
