23日中午我们便开始走访活动，在走访的过程中，我们了解到很多老兵、老党员基本是上了一定年纪，身体状状况也不是很好，而他们却仍有着一颗为国家贡献自 身的力量的不老之心，虽然离战争的那个年代已经很远，每位老兵老党员也已经退役在家，但仍每天都关心国家的点点滴滴，他们并不是只是看过，感叹一声便罢了，老党员在了解国家每天的发生的事宜，也会自己进行一番思考， 纵使现在自己没有多大的能力去改变、去贡献，他们希望自己能够学到更多，教导孩子，将希望寄予子女。还记得当问到他们如果国家现在亟需他们为国家做点事，他们是否还愿意出来为国家贡献力量时，每位老兵、老党员都是信誓旦旦的说着:愿意。虽然这是一个假设问题，但是每位老人都希望能够一直为国家燃烧他们的光和热， 现在他们都已白发苍苍,为国家做重大的事情已经是不可能的事情了，他们说，现在能做的就是教好自己的子孙，我们还了解在这十八名老兵、老党员当中大部分人的文化水平是比较低,但是这并不是阻止他们与时俱进、继续学习的障碍，在这群年过古稀的老人的生活中，每天看新闻、报纸，是他们每天必可不可少的一门课程，或许有些字他们不懂，但是他们会问身边的儿女、孙子,每天的新闻也是他们的必看的,他们从报纸、电视上学到的，思考到，他们会语重心长地教导他们的子孙，他们还会给自己子孙讲自己当初的故事。
老兵、老党员们，年轻是为国家燃烧了他们的大部分的光和热，年老了,他们仍想着为国家燃烧最后的一-点热量，他们把这份希望投到了自己子孙中，希望子孙可以可以学习有用的知识,为建设国家而贡献自己的力量。
这是一群老兵、老党员的真实寄望，年轻时，他们做出了为国家"死而后已”的承诺，年老了，他们希望自己的一-生都可以在为国家做贡献，春蚕到死丝方尽,蜡炬成灰泪始干,他们用一生在践行这句纵古今的老话。
