简介

→ Streamline the process of joining your virtual meetings
→ Conveniently store the links to your recurring virtual meetings in your computer's menu bar
→ Elegant, simple design to make your experience in the app great

Summit is the simplest, most streamlined solution to managing your virtual meeting links. Optimized for storing your recurring meeting links, you will never have to go through the painstaking process of navigating to your link, copying it into your web browser, and joining your meeting from there.

Why did we choose to focus on recurring meetings?

Summit is intentionally designed for recurring meetings because of my experience as a university student in the age of online learning. Suddenly, after campus closed in mid-March, I found myself attending up to five virtual meetings every single day. Before every meeting, I would navigate to my course's home page to find my Zoom link. It was the same Zoom link for every meeting, and I was going through the same exact process up to five times a week. I searched for a solution, but couldn't find one that exactly fitted my use case. So what did I do? I built one!

How does Summit compare to its competitors?

Summit has a few competitors on the App Store, but it is distinct in a number of ways. First, Summit does not require the user to store all of their meetings in the Calendar app. That means that you can get great use out of app even if you don't use your Apple Calendar. Other apps, most notably Meeter, work wonderfully for people who avidly schedule their time in Calendar. However, it's much less useful for people who do not. With Summit, you can get all of the app's benefits without having to adopt Calendar. Also, if you prefer not to clog up your Calendar with meetings that happen multiple times a week every single week, you can take them out of your Calendar and keep them in Summit. Summit also has an elegant, simple, and intuitive design to streamline your time in the app and minimize the time it takes to join your meetings.

How does Calendar integration work in Summit?

Summit will automatically retrieve events containing supported meeting links from your Apple Calendar and includes them as one-time meetings in the app. That means that your recurring meetings can be stored right next to your recurring meeting links. All just one click away in Summit.

What virtual meeting platforms are supported for Calendar fetching?

- Zoom
- Webex
- Google Meet
- Google Hangouts
- Skype

新内容

版本 1.1.2

This update brings:
- Performance improvements when opening the app
- Big Sur UI improvements

Details for nerds:
- Previously, upon opening the app, I fetched Calendar events on the main thread, which would increase the time between clicking on the menu bar icon and the UI appearing. I now fetch on a background thread, so the UI doesn't hang if fetching events takes a long time
- Big Sur seems to have changed the SwiftUI default font sizes, so I adjusted font sizes to make them look more natural
