Ratings and Reviews
Great App -> Very useful
Really handy and well done. Thanks and completely worth it
Working hard but can still do better
With useful improvements on the previous version, the KTDict 1.4 is becoming a very good app. The paid version, which includes the “trainer” area (flashcards), now allows you to edit the standard dictionary definitions to suit yourself as you store them. It’s also possible to enter longer sentences as flashcards and to search your flashcards later on if you want to delete/edit them again. On the other hand, the trainer function is flawed – and mistakenly says you are adding a duplicate entry if any keyword has already been stored. For example, if you already have “Sunday market” and later want to add “night market” it calls this a duplicate. The result is you can never be sure whether to proceed with the new entry or not and forever need to search your flashcards to check for duplicates. Also, you can only use search within the trainer area by English words. You can’t search by Pinyin or Chinese characters. Furthermore, a bug in the program also means the menu bar (Help, Credits, Trainer, External) often vanishes into the roof of the program, putting it out of your finger’s reach and forcing you to restart the app if you want to use the trainer program again. Overall, this is an improving app but still needs to address some problems if it’s to win out in a fiercely competitive market.
