Description
KWEM Radio single handedly launched the careers of some of the most important figures in modern music including Elvis Presley, B.B. King, Johnny Cash, Howlin Wolf, Ike Turner, James Cotton, Junior Parker, Reggie Young, Bill Black and hundreds of others as well as the Snearly Ranch Boys. The foundation of SUN Records, Chess, Hi Records, Atlantic Records, and STAX can be traced to KWEM Radio in the early 1950ís. †It was at KWEM that Arkansas Delta Blues artists melded with rural local Hillbilly artists and the blend produced new genres of music that took the world by storm...Rockabilly, Rock & Roll, the Chicago Blues, Soul, the Memphis Sound, and modern country. Tune in to Legendary KWEM Radio Station.
