Identify Songs, Live Shows

View

Over the 20 years since its launch, Shazam has amassed nearly 300 million monthly users and given music fans the power to identify pretty much any song as it’s playing. But this game-changing app can do more than tell you the artist and song title. Here are five ways to unlock Shazam’s full power.

Know what’s trending

Fun fact: Shazam is used to identify a billion songs every month – which makes the app’s browsable charts a fun way to see early trends. To see what others are Shazaming around the world or across town, head to the Search tab and tap Country and City Charts.

When you hear a song and don’t know the artist, Shazam will save the day.

Use Shazam with your favourite apps

Want to identify a song playing on TikTok or YouTube, or in any other app loaded on your iPhone or iPad? Simply launch Shazam’s Music Recognition from your device’s Control Centre. To enable this, open your device’s Settings, tap Control Centre and select Music Recognition. (If you don’t see this option, make sure you’re running the latest version of iOS or iPadOS.)

Know your history

Whenever you identify a song, it’s automatically saved to your Shazam app’s history, which you’ll find by tapping Shazams on the My Music tab. To keep your Shazams up to date across all your devices, toggle on the Shazam option in iCloud settings.

Add Shazam to your Control Centre for super-quick access.

Tap the power of Apple Music

When you link Shazam with Apple Music’s catalogue of more than 90 million songs, you can instantly play any song you identify right in the Shazam app. Tap the Add To button to add the track to your My Shazam Tracks playlist.

Discover concerts around you

If you love live music, browse, search, and filter upcoming concerts by artist, date, and location all in one place. Share show details with friends, add events to your calendar, and save your favorites for later.
