This is the audio guide app for Upopoy (National Ainu Museum and Park) located in Shiraoi-cho, Hokkaido.
This mutilingual app has versions in the Ainu language, as well as Japanese, English, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese, Korean, Russian, and Thai languages.
The app provides information on the major facilities of Upopoy, the National Ainu Park and the National Ainu Museum using audio guides and photographs.
The contents of the audio guide can be read as text and can be used at home to further understanding of the language, culture and history of the Ainu people.
About Upopoy
Upopoy (National Ainu Museum and Park) serves as the center for the revival and development of Ainu culture, an invaluable culture in Japan that is on the verge of extinction. Upopoy has been developed as a future-minded space that symbolizes the respect for the dignity of the indigenous Ainu people and the fostering of a vibrant society that embraces diverse cultures and is free from discrimination.
Upopoy aims to hand down and share the Ainu culture from multiple perspectives with visitors across age groups and nationalities. Visitors, both domestic and international, from adults to children, are invited to learn about the unique worldview and perspective on nature of the indigenous Ainu people.
The main facilities are the National Ainu Museum, the National Ainu Park and the Memorial Site.
