Great VPN
I really love ProtonVPN. The app is great with rare option to choose specific server in specific country which is great because sometimes the ip of specific server could get blocked and you can simply switch to another server. I love protonVPN idea of free VPN for all. In fact I had been using free plan for a few years when I couldn’t afford VPN subscription and it helped me a lot so I would like to thank you for it. I also became your paying customer now when I have work and your paid VPN is great. I am using it almost every day. Keep good work!
Loosing connection when the phone screen is off for some time
Whenever the phone’s screen is off for a couple minutes the VPN has to reconnect again and most of the time this either takes quite long and slows/stops the phone’s internet connection or you can help it by opening the app and reconnecting manually. It might be an issue with some setting I am missing or simply a limit of the iPhone itself. The macos app handles reconnecting after longer times of the device’s sleep pretty much seamlessly.
Other than that I would say this is the best VPN on the market as soon as you get it properly connected. Speed is always perfect, servers always available and I trust it to be the best for privacy out of all the other options.

Hi! Thank you for your support. We are actively investigating the disconnection issue in order to mitigate these occurrences when the device screen is turned off. We believe this is related to the WireGuard protocol, so for testing purposes, you could try switching to IKEv2 instead, to see if you will experience a more stable connection when your device is asleep: https://protonvpn.com/support/how-to-change-vpn-protocols. We're hoping to have a fix deployed in one of the upcoming versions of the app.
Amazing but without reasonable Premium
Great free and trustworthy VPN with quick and easy to use app.
It's a bit sad that it doesn't offer any plan for holidays use only. I'm using the VPN mainly when traveling and it simply doesn't make sense to pay for expensive yearly subscription. So short-term premium with much affordable price would be greatly appreciated.
