Good app with limitations
I like the idea of streaming my home music to my phone. Hope they will add possibility of modifying playlists from the app.
Great app that increases value of QNAP NAS
For being a free app, it is amazing what it can do. The basic functioning requires a bit of a learning curve, but the depth of options for controlling your music is impressive.
The app keeps getting better and better and more intuitive with each iteration. Now even my 4 yo knows how to play his favorite music from my phone and this has completely replaced Spotify for me. Honestly, I listened to the same songs usually anyway, so why not buy them and run my own streaming system?
The only minuses I would give are the less than stellar search, giving usually the wrong results since it just matches marches the text anywhere in the file. Also, the inability to play flac is a bit of downer since I needed to re-encode a large part of my library. Lastly, song managment could be more streamlined straight from the play view. None of these are worth reducing this from 5 star, because I have not regretted a moment since taking this into use. I don’t know why I went years with a QNAP NAS and without realizing this existed. Thank you for your hard work developers. You rock and enable me to rock!
