Riverboat Gambler 17+

Wow! This actually turned out to be a much larger release than I originally intended! I'm going to blame it on Hurricane Milton. I was stuck in my house for a few days and needed something to do. Thankfully, my area of Florida wasn't very impacted. Unfortunately, that's not the case for many.

I started by making some enhancements to the crash logging because I am still trying to get to the bottom of the issues with Wild 5 Poker that just "came out of nowhere". I have to give a huge shoutout to Ed who played a ton of hands in that game trying to help to isolate the issues and was able to send me multiple screenshots of some pretty whacky behavior. Still, I am unable to reproduce the problem; hence the enhanced logging. I turned that game off, but it will be turned on for this release despite the fact that the issue may still exist.

While I was "in there", I did a bit of testing on an IPhone 12 that I own that had the display configured to "Large Text". While playing around with some games, it dawned on me that I should try to add some of the "tap sensitive" games to that resolution. So, now, those devices will support Craps, Crapless Craps, Roulette, High Flush (a.k.a. I Love Suits), and Three Card Blitz. I feel like the screens are reasonable, but I'll wait to hear back from Players who are using that configuration. I really don't think a stylus will be necessary to direct your "taps". Please let me know!

A "toast" is a message that pops up for a moment and then closes itself. Prior to this release, I had the RBG toasts configured so that you could remove them quicker by tapping them. Because I saw references to the "Toast Code" in the crash logs, I decided to take a new approach to those displaying those popups. Unfortunately, I am still trying to figure out a way to allow you to close them faster than they will close themselves. At most, a serious/critical message will remain on the screen for 4.5 seconds. If I'm lucky, this will fix whatever is wrong with Wild 5 Poker and I will never know why!

For those who aren't aware, you can disable the informational messages in Preferences. Look for "Show Popup Instructions" on the Wagers tab. If they are allowed, Popup Instructions will be shown three times per game, if applicable.

For those who play RBG on iPads: Some enhancements in IOS 18 have changed the way "tabs" are displayed on your device. This has an impact on Preferences. Now, instead of a series of tabs with images at the bottom of those screens, you will see options at the top of the screen without images. It's sort of a nice change from a screen real estate perspective, but it created a challenge for how I was using the images on the tabs to communicate information. Specifically, Favorites and Left-Handed/Right-Handed Mode had to be be modified. I'm not "in love" with the final solution, but I think what this release includes is pretty workable. Please let me know, using "Send Feedback", how these changes work for you. I will continue to "noodle" on this.

I uncovered a weird bug (accidentally) in Craps. It's the type of bug I typically file under "Silly User Mistake", so I suspect the chances of an experienced Craps Player hitting it are "slim to none". If you tried to post a Pass Line wager AFTER the point was established, the engine was confused because it assumed "Pass Line Odds" were being posted. When this happened, you would see a chip placed on the board with "!!!' on it. In any of the RBG games, that's an indication that the engine has no idea what type of wager was placed.
