Description

Strava makes fitness tracking social. We house your entire active journey in one spot – and you get to share it with friends. Here’s how:

• Record everything – runs, rides, hikes, yoga and over 30 other sport types. Think of Strava as the home of your movement.

• Discover anywhere – our Routes tool uses de-identified Strava data to intelligently recommend popular routes based on your preferences. You can also build your own.

• Build a support network – Strava’s about celebrating movement. Here you’ll find your community and cheer each other on.

• Train smarter – get data insights to understand your progress and see how you improve. Your Training Log is the record of all your workouts.

• Move safer – share your real-time location with loved ones while outdoors for an extra layer of safety.

• Sync your favourite apps and devices – Strava is compatible with thousands of them (Apple Watch, Fitbit, Garmin – you name it).

• Join and create challenges – join millions in monthly challenges to chase new goals, collect digital badges and stay accountable.

• Embrace the unfiltered – your feed on Strava is filled with real efforts from real people. That’s how we motivate each other.

• Whether you’re a world-class athlete or a total beginner, you belong here. Just record and go.

Strava includes both a free version and a subscription version with premium features.
Strava uses HealthKit to export your Strava activities into the Health app and to read heart rate and biometric data.

Editors’ Notes

Friendly competition with a like-minded sporting community is a big part of Strava’s appeal. More than just a GPS, Strava shares your rides and runs automatically, so it’s low maintenance. See your rank on your favorite segment, join distance challenges, and follow your friends, pros, and even foes. As they say, “If it’s not on Strava, it didn’t happen.”

Great Service and App for iPhone/Apple Watch, but no iPad version

The Strava is great and my most used service of all. I enjoy its detailed web app, great Apple Watch app (much better for running than stock AW app) and reliable iPhone app. I appreciate ability to sync with Apple Health (and ability to switch it off temporarily), connection with other apps (I use Cadence for cycling and AW stock app for swimming, all that syncs nicely and seamlessly with Strava). So far, so good.

But - what I truly miss is a proper iPad app! As the iPad is these days my most used computing device, I do not like to use just scaled up iPhone app on such a big screen, on a powerful device, with keyboard, touchbar and pencil.

Great app

Strava is a great app with many helpful functions and modern UI. I can totally recommend it. I have subscription and it's worth it (although it is a bit expensive and I really don’t like being reminded all the time about the functions I can use as a subscriber).

Before joining Strava, I was a long-time user (for 7 years) of Endomondo app which is retiring at the end of 2020. Therefore, I have lot of workouts that I would love to import into Strava. However, the current method is very unfriendly and limited. I would be great if Strava can offer smother and easier transfer of the data from Endomondo to Strava. Is it possible? I am pretty sure that that there are more users like me. Thanks!
